It refers to the real-wood top layer's thickness. Thicker wear layers (3mm+) can be refinished in the future and last longer; thinner layers are decorative only. We state the wear layer for every collection — no guessing.

The rigid stone-plastic composite core does not swell, warp or grow mold when water sits on it — unlike wood or standard laminate. Seams and installation still matter, which is why we supply the official installation instructions with every order.

Yes, that is its natural habitat: waterproof, stable and warm enough underfoot. It is also the standard choice for Phoenix rentals and commercial spaces for the same reasons.

The waterproof lines use water-resistant cores and sealed locking edges that keep surface water out of the core for extended periods — a different product from the sponge-core laminate of the past. The test report for our 12mm laminate is a published document; ask for it.

AC4 is a commercial-grade abrasion rating — the surface is rated for heavy residential and general commercial traffic. It is the rating published for our laminate lines.

At minimum: underlayment suited to your floor and subfloor, transition strips where floors meet, and quarter-round or shoe molding at walls. Stairs need nosings or treads. We build the list from your floor plan so nothing is missing on installation day.
